Thank you for your enquiry about school crossing patrols. After much deliberation the Council decided to cancel this service in the 2019 era in order to try to meet budget constraints. The Council agreed to retain the function of employer/administrator for any school crossing patrol officers that schools wished to continue, on the basis that the relevant schools would meet the ongoing cost of the service. At present, this arrangement leaves us with just one patrol, which is on Palmers Green High Street. But even here the post, I am told, happens to be vacant at the time of writing.
