Response details:
Dear Cllr Stephanos Ioannou,
Thank you for your request to remove litter bins along Winchmore Hill Road
With regards to the previous MEQ requesting the same, the information passed over was that there was a survey being undertaken, which was concluded in the latter part of last year. Since then we have been following up on recommendations, installations, removals and replacements right across the Borough
With regards to the bin in question, due to the increased frequency of collection, both the team and the Senior Chargehand seem to think there is not a problem at this location as waste and litter is removed regularly.
However, on this occasion we will remove the litter bin from the bus stop near to St Thomas Road, but will leave in site and continue to monitor the other litter bins in Winchmore Hill Road
Original enquiry description:
Can I please ask the department regarding the situaton that was once brought up in another MEQ regarding the bins outsdie the bus stops along Winchmore Hill Road, especially that outsdie St. Thomas Road. The bin every day is a tip and households are abusing it and yet the department insisted that the bin stay in place. Can we please reconsider once again as it makes the place look a mess and isnt serving as a litter purpose but rather as a household waste hotspot for dumping
