Southgate Library is open, and there are currently no plans to sell the building. The Council has published a draft library strategy which will be subject to a 12-week public consultation. Within that draft strategy, one of the proposals is to close Southgate library. No decisions on the future of this library or others will be made until after the public consultation has been completed. Please note that the next report to members on Library Services, following the consultation, will set out in detail the various property implications arising from the final proposals.
