Response details:
Dear Cllr Stephanos Ioannou,
Thank you for your enquiry regarding the possibility of planting a new tree at 62 and 64 Park View.
Unfortunately the planting location directly on the boundary line of the two properties is not suitable for planting under our current planting criteria. There are three service boxes on the public footpath in front of the grass verge, one bring water and the second closest to eth grass verge is a BT box. We are unable top plant this close to underground services such as these.
We can plant directly opposite the bay windows of the two properties within the grass verge if either resident would not object to this. If so we could potentially plant two trees at this location. We may be able to accommodate these planting locations in this years planting programme if you could confirm if your constituent is happy to have tree planted directly opposite their bay window?
I hope this is of assistance.
Yours sincerely,
Arborist Team Manager
Original enquiry description:
We require replacement of the tree situated outside property numbers 62 and 64 Park View. Originally there was a Prunus kanzan, which died over 20 years ago, and was replaced some 10 years later by a Sorbus aucuparia, The tree died the following year and has not been replaced in several years. I would be grateful if you could arrange for a suitable replacement species to be planted as soon as practicably possible, bearing in mind we will soon be approaching the end of the typical planting season and there has been no replacement to date.
