4th Southgate Scouts- MEQ

•

Original enquiry description:
I’m messaging on behalf of the 4th Southgate scouts who have been messaging Enfield council over the last few weeks in order to use a council owned container in the Bourneside Sports Ground. However it is taking a very long time to hear anything back from the council. We know that the container was last used by the old Ashmolean rugby club and that they have been defunct for many years and so the container is unused and vacant. So it seems like these issue should be very easy to sort out quickly. The council have an empty unit that is going to waste, a local Charity wants to make use of it. Would it be possible for you to chase up the council workers and get this done before the end of half term?

Best regards

Response details:

Dear Cllr Stephanos Ioannou,
Thank you for your email.
Council officers are in touch with the 4th Southgate Scouts in relation to this matter. We have advised them that it could take some time to determine whether the previous agreement for this container is properly ended, prior to agreeing any new terms. We will be in touch with the Scouts once our investigation is concluded.

Additionally, you are aware that the Council intends to tender the land currently occupied by this container for use as a tennis club and therefore would require the container to be relocated in future.
