Bush Hill Speeding- MEQ

Dear Cllr Stephanos Ioannou,

Case Reference: 101000588793

Thank you for your email enquiry dated 13th September regarding temporary traffic lights associated with pavement renewal works in Bush Hill.

Sorry to hear residents were reporting potential vehicle collisions (near misses) whilst the works were being undertaken.

Unfortunately, temporary traffic lights can sometimes malfunction when vehicles are parked within the shuttle section causing the lights to stay on red and sometimes be affected by radio signals being transmitted in the surrounding area. This may be the reason for residents reporting ‘near misses’, as the traffic management for the scheme at this time, was set out on site in accordance with our contractor’s traffic management drawing, approved by our Street Works Team.

We intend to raise these issues with our contractor at the next progress meeting.

Please note the works were completed at the end of last week with some remaining traffic management equipment removed this week.

We would like to apologise for any inconvenience the works may have caused.

Yours sincerely,
