Corner of Balaams Lane- MEQ

ORIGINAL EMAIL
Dear Department,
I am emailing you regarding constituent concerns on the state of the corner of Balaams Lane, Southgate N14.
As the images attached below show, the corner of the road is in serious need of some care and attention. The rail presents a health and safety hazard should anyone trip accidentally. May I add that fundamentally the level of council tax paid by residents in this vicinity echos the need for better surroundings, and a decent level of upkeep and maintenance.
My question is therefore simple:
1-Will Enfield Council look to not only fix the poor state of the gate around the corner of the road, but will they also look to trim the greenery and shrubs so that the area does look half decent.
I hope to hear from you soon.
RESPONSE

Dear Cllr Ioannou,

Thank you for your recent enquiry concerning Balaams Lane, N14.

Following from the response sent below on 3rd July 2018, I have visited the location this morning and inspected the land and railing. There was no putrescible waste or evidence of vermin nesting on the land and overall the land has been cut back and maintained. In its current condition, it does not meet the threshold to enable the Council to take enforcement action.

With regards to the railing; although parts of the railing is damaged, there are no sharp edges or any part of the railing that protrudes onto the public footpath causing an obstruction and unfortunately the Council have no powers to request this be repaired.

Should you require any further information, please do not hesitate to contact me

Yours sincerely
