Damaged Southgate Circus Fingerpost- MEQ

Thank you for your enquiry. Please, see below the responses from the Services.

Highway:

Thank you for your recent communication. We will add this request to our
current list of street name plates that we are considering for attention. We
are prioritising repairs and replacements based upon network needs within this
year’s limited budget.

Yours sincerely,
Highways Team

Strategic Planning:

Thank you for your enquiry which relates to the condition of the directional fingerpost sign at Southgate Circus. The post is a historic element of the street scene in the Southgate Circus Conservation Area and was one of several historic fingerpost in the borough that were extensively refurbished with the help of a grant from Historic England approx. ten years ago. As such the approach would be repair rather than replacement.

The condition of the fingerpost has been assessed by the Highway Services team. There is some minor damage / small chips to the paintwork on the post itself. The main damage appears to be that one of the directional fingers is broken and needs replacing. The Highway Services team has contacted their contractor with a view to replacing the damaged finger.

We would be happy to provide further updates on the proposal and programming going forward.

Kind regards,
