MEQ- Balaams lane – Walker cricket ground

Response details:

Dear Cllr Stephanos Ioannou,

This footpath gets cleansed weekly. Unfortunately as it is a long alleyway and too much work for one hand barrow operative during leafing season, the operative would only litter pick and sweep spillages during this period as it would be too time consuming to keep up with a weekly sweep. During leafing seasons, roads we deem too much for a single operative would get a leafing team to help with the leaf fall. As we only have a couple of those teams to do every leafy road in the borough, this can take a considerable amount of time to get done, which is why some roads only get a full cleanse 1-3 times during this season ( depending on need). I can confirm that a team are there today and that this may take 1-2 days to complete.

Kind Regards
Supervisor

Original enquiry description:

Happy new year. I wish to bring to your attention the matter of the pathway that runs between Balaams lane round the Walker cricket ground to Waterfall road. Can you get in touch with the appropriate department to get the guys to sweep the leaves and rubbish. It’s an annual event that only gets done if requested. Perhaps they should put it in there diary. As always thank you for your continued support for the residents of this ward. Regards.
