Response details:
Dear Cllr Stephanos Ioannou,
Thank you for your enquiry regarding the pathway that runs from Balams Lane N14 6EA to Waterfall Road N14.
We have written to The Walker Ground requesting they cut back the vegetation.
Re: Foliage /Hedge/Tree overhanging the public footpath from your property/land onto Waterfall Road N14
Following Councillor Complaints & site inspection, the Highways Officer has observed some vegetation/ trees that appears to be hanging over onto the public footway from your property. The vegetation/hedge/tree is preventing repair works to be carried out & pedestrians from being able to use the full footway width and in some instance, this can cause inconvenience or prove hazardous to children and the visually impaired.
As the Highway Authority we have a duty to preserve the public footway for the use of pedestrians and overhanging vegetation is considered an obstruction. Under these circumstances, please make arrangements to cut back the overhanging vegetation to the boundary of your property within 14 days from the date of this email.
NOTE: The LBE nrswa@enfield.gov.uk; street works team are yet to receive a permit request for any planned works.
If the vegetation is not cut back, we may be forced to serve a formal notice requiring the necessary works to be carried out. This is something we endeavour to avoid and if you have any problems dealing with the overhanging vegetation please contact me using the above contact email or leave a message with your reference number starting with RR and your address on 0208 132 0742 and I we will arrange a call back.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation with this matter.
Kind Regards,
