Thank you for your enquiry regarding illegal parking in Crown Lane N14.
Additional resources are deployed daily to Southgate due to the ongoing illegal parking that takes place. Since April 2024 over 1,500 Penalty Charge Notices have been issued in Crown Lane specifically.
Although additional visits will continue as the location is on the additional enforcement list the best course of action to target illegal parking is for it to be reported at the time it is occurring as often a Civil Enforcement Officer will attend at the time illegal parking is not taking place or vehicles will return once the officer has left the location.
Illegal parking can be reported by calling The Parking Shop on 020 3856 0036 Monday to Saturday 7am-10pm and Sunday 7am-7pm or by emailing EN01.Communications@nslservices.co.uk.
Unfortunately inconsiderate and illegal parking is becoming a more frequent occurrence within the whole Borough and although officers are deployed to areas in most need of enforcement Southgate being one of them, as an officer cannot be in attendance at all times illegal parking is likely to continue.
I have requested Crown Lane N14 is treated as a priority location when carrying out patrols of the area.

Can I please ask parking services why the situation persists along crown Lane that people are allowed to double park particularly outside Fios Continental food?
This situation has been happening on a daily basis now for years since the business started trading and the situation is getting worse to the point that cars simply put their hazard lights on and just stay stationary in the middle of the road. What actually is going on in our ward? What is parking service is actually doing? Yesterday at the Southgate War forum that is held quarterly we were absolutely hounded by local residence that were fed up and our blaming us for the incapability of the parking department.
Why cant the parking department get a grip of the roads that are always the main issues in our ward?
At the next ward forum, we will invite a personnel from parking services in Enfield to explain the situation because quite frankly as Councillors we don?t have the energy or the stamina to explain it anymore. This is not a problem of our doing this is a problem caused by the capabilities of the parking department at Enfield council.
