MEQ- Eversley Park Road & Willow Walk junction

•

Response details:

Dear Cllr Stephanos Ioannou,

Thank you for your enquiry regarding parking on Eversley Park Road near the Willow Walk junction.

We understand the concerns raised about vehicles parking in a way that affects visibility and access, particularly where this occurs close to junctions. Keeping roads clear and safe for everyone is important, and issues such as these can be frustrating for residents and road users.

The Council manages parking across the borough to balance the needs of residents, businesses and visitors, while ensuring streets remain safe and accessible. Where concerns are raised, we review the location to better understand the issue. This includes considering factors such as the road layout, visibility, traffic movements, access requirements and any existing parking restrictions.

Where parking restrictions are not considered adequate, measures such as new or extended waiting restrictions can be considered where parking is thought to be contributing to safety, visibility or access concerns. Your request to extend the existing waiting restrictions at this location has been recorded and added to our list of sites for future review.

If a scheme is progressed, the Council would be required to follow the statutory Traffic Management Order process. This includes formal consultation, giving residents and other interested parties an opportunity to comment before any decision is made.

The Council is currently managing a high volume of similar requests across the borough and any proposals are prioritised based on safety considerations, operational need and available funding. As a result, we are unable to provide a timeframe for review at this stage.

Thank you again for bringing this matter to our attention.
Yours sincerely
