As for the vehicles damaging the grass verges at Oakwood Park and Groveland?s Park, they have been instructed not to drive on the verges and are required to park and walk instead.
Additionally, your suggestion about installing railings along the path to prevent cars from going off has been forwarded to the operations team for further investigation and to advise on potential solutions.
Kind regards,
Original enquiry description:
Regarding the issue below, was there any progress with this? This area gets flooded and blocks the path. Furthermore, council vehicles have to drive across the grass and damage the grass. This is another issue which I’ve raised previously with the council. In both Oakwood Park and Grovelands Park, council vans are damaging the grass because the vehicles are too large, I was told some time ago that there was a possibility or plan to purchase small electric vehicles for Park maintenance, are you aware of this? I’ve attached some photos from both parks, but there are many more examples of damage these vehicles cause. Electric Vehicles in my opnion wont do anything to stop this, if anything we require ralings along the path here to stop cars going off-road. This is currently in place in Trent Park entrance to Cockfosters road.
I look forward to hearing from you.
