Original enquiry description:
As residents of Leigh Hunt Drive, we were dismayed to see a notice (link appended below) attached to a lamppost at the entrance to Leigh Hunt Drive which advises of a proposal to create new paid parking spaces opposite the public carpark. LHD is a narrow road and I think this proposal is ridiculous especially as busies for the Durants school pupils block one of the lanes at certain times of the day. Also, there are often tourist coaches parked in that area, which further push cars down the road. Creating pay parking places would really block the entrance to cars and, more importantly, to emergency vehicles. Many of our neighbours share this view – please convey our strong objection to the Council to prevent any accidents arising from this proposed further narrowing of our road. Thank you very much for your help – I look forward to hearing from you.
