Response details:
Dear Cllr Stephanos Ioannou,
Case Reference: 101001280164.
Thank you for your inquiry regarding the Southgate allotment and the Southgate Recreation Centre. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention, and we apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused.
We have forwarded your concerns to the team supervisor, who has informed us that a site visit has been scheduled to investigate this matter further. It is important to note that the dog bin was removed several years ago due to misuse and instances of fly-tipping by allotment holders. Additionally, the bin was taken out of service as it had reached the end of its life expectancy.
There are still provisions in place for responsible dog owners, as there are bins available in the open space for those who pick up after their dogs.
Yours Sincerely,
Original enquiry description:
Can I please ask why the waste department has removed the public bin from the public pathway along the Southgate allotment and the Southgate recreation Centre? There used to be a bin here. Also in addition the dog waste bin has been removed that is causing a lot of annoyance for dog walkers.
Can I please ask the department to reinstall the bin that was taken away?
Thank you
