MEQ- Southgate ward – Cutting schedules 2025

Attention residents of Southgate. I am pleased to be able to update you regarding a situation that many residents in the area will agree during the summer period in particular, became completely out of hand and uncontrollable.

Since Enfield Council decided to bring in-house the team responsible for cutting grass verges and hedges in the borough, we saw particularly this year a situation where uncontrolled hedges and grass verges caused a danger for both pedestrians and particularly motorists. Many of the enquiries I received in the last few months of 2024 were regarding this issue.

I am pleased therefore that due to the pressure applied to the local authority that they have a clear plan for 2025 ahead. The link attached with the document presentation outlines particularly for Southgate ward where grass verge trimming and hedge trimming will take place and when.

This provides us with a clear timetable of when certain areas will be attended to.I am hopeful that the local authority will live up to its deadline and not disappoint us.

I Encourage residents to click on the link provided and look at the presentation provided by Enfield Council.

Thank you.

  1. What about Oakwood? I live in EN2 7NA and there is a great need for improved shrubbery maintenance here.
We all pay our council tax too.
Hoping for a swift reassurance that our service will be improved too.

  2. Hi Stephanie,
Do you have email addresses for the Oakwood ward councilors.
As I would love to receive cutting schedule for the area as very little was done last year

    Thank you

  3. Hi
I can see Park View on the cutting schedule but not Wynchgate N21 1QU. When will will the grass verges and hedges be trimmed on Wynchgate ? Dangerous to come out of drives as not a clear view when everything is overgrown.

    1. Hi Theodora, Park View and Wynchgate are both marked on the map provided and both will be cut supposidly at the same time. I beleive they are doing areas in batches- I think logically they will do both roads at the same time. If you see they dont please mention and I will of course relate back to them
