MEQ- Zebra on Bourne

Response details:

Dear Cllr Stephanos Ioannou,
Thanks for your report regarding mud by the zebra crossing at The Bourne.

I can confirm that an operative was sent to the area to dig out and sweep up the mud. We also deployed the Graffiti team to give it a jet wash. I can confirm that this has now been done.

Kind Regards
Supervisor

Original enquiry description:

It regards the zebra crossing opposite the gate to Grovelands Park in N14 6QX (The Bourne) The crossing is absolutely filthy, covered in sand and mud and when it rains it gets flooded. (Please see the photos).

The layer of mud and sand is so thick that I was unable to push the wheelchair through it the other day, when I was trying to help the neighbour. I live opposite the zebra at 2d, The Bourne N14 6QX and can see though my window how people with mobility issues encounter problems trying to negotiate it.

Personally, when I am trying to cross the road I have to side step and get off the zebra in order to get to the other side because of the filth underneath. I am sure the abominable state of that zebra crossing is likely to increase the hazards connected with of crossing the road.I have lived here for the last 10 years and I have not seen anyone cleaning the zebra which is the main entry point to the park!
