We are writing to inform you of a proposed junction protection scheme at The Vale junction with Fountains Crescent (north east and south west junctions, N14) within Southgate Ward, and the associated statutory consultation.
Following concerns raised about visibility and safety at these junctions due to parked vehicles, the Council has reviewed the locations and is proposing the introduction of double yellow lines (no waiting at any time). These changes are intended to improve sightlines at the junctions and support safer movement for all road users.
Attached is the letter that will be distributed tomorrow, Wednesday 15 July, to residents and businesses in the immediate area. Street notices will also be installed at the two junctions to ensure that local people are aware of the proposals and have the opportunity to respond.
The statutory consultation period will run from 15 July to 9 August 2026. During this time, residents and other interested parties can submit representations or objections to the draft traffic order.
Full details of the proposal, including the draft traffic order and plans, are available here:

We are keen to ensure that local residents’ views are heard. All feedback received during the consultation period will be carefully considered before any final decision is made.
