MEQ- 62 High street Southgate community garden space [SEC=OFFICIAL]

Original Email:

This proposal is about a greenbelt unused recreational area next to our business location. V.A.R.C. Ltd would be very happy to volunteer under Enfield Council’s guidance in order to upkeep this area thus creating an educational, environmental and community inspired place for all to enjoy, ‘fresh of breath air so to speak’. I would also like to mention this greenbelt area has become a wasted space for many years sadly which no one uses.

  • Phase 1: Retail shop selling antiques and coffee bar open. A seated indoor / frontal area and take away selling light cold refreshments. Welfare facilities.
  • Phase 2: Rear yard decked area with multiple seating incorporating vision panels along fence line overlooking greenbelt area, a pets corner and outside educational learning section. Disabled access & pet friendly.
  • Phase 3: Incorporate the greenbelt land into the business subject to planning. educational learning with wildlife / flower and herb gardens, environmental pathways, communal areas, welfare and security.

Response:

Dear Councillor Ioannou,

Thank you for your enquiry.

While we appreciate the interest by the business owner, our position is that we continue to maintain the area as is. Should the business owner wish to contribute to the betterment of the local area, Broomfield park have a wide community group with several incentives happening within the park grounds, which always welcomes local contributions
