This premises has a licence for sales of alcohol from 08:00 – 23:00 every day however the licence holder has not paid their most recent annual fee so the licence is currently suspended.
I visited the premises on 14/06/23 to see if any licensable activities were taking place and if so to carry out a full licence inspection.
Although the premises door was wide open there was no one inside the premises when I arrived. The premises did not appear to be trading and appeared to be in the process of having construction work carried out inside, many of the walls were bare plaster and there was dust everywhere. There was no alcohol on site. Two pool tables were seen. There were three fruit machines at the back of the premises which were switched on. As I was about to leave two males approached me from a nearby premises saying they were friends of the new owner and that everything inside was going to be cleared out and a new application submitted once the works were complete. I left a report with them for the owner asking him to contact me. I advised that the gaming machines had to be removed and they were switched off before I left. I also advised them that the new owner will need to ensure he has the correct planning permission if he wants to change the type of business that is run from there.
This information was shared with Planning Enforcement.
Planning Enforcement visited the Premises in May and found it to be closed and under refurbishment. Following my visit they have reopened the case (Ref: ENF/23/0327) in order to reconsider the current possible use as a social club operating without planning permission. The Planning Enforcement case officer XXXXX will keep you updated directly on actions and timescales.
I have also asked the SNT to keep an eye on this premises.
