MEQ- Greenway / Meadway junction

Response details:

Dear Cllr Stephanos Ioannou,
Case Reference:101001572266.

Thank you for your message regarding the overgrown shrubs at the Greenway / Meadway junction in Southgate N14. As it is currently peak grass verge maintenance season (April to mid-July), our resources are fully allocated to grass cutting. Additionally, due to the ongoing bird nesting season (March to mid-July), we are restricted under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 from carrying out shrub maintenance that could disturb active nests. However, if you wish to cut back the overgrown shrubs yourself, you may place the cuttings in your green bin or leave them neatly on the verge for collection by our operatives.
Once the peak season concludes, our teams will resume the regular shrub maintenance schedule, and this location will be included in the upcoming rounds. Please let us know if there is an immediate health and safety concern so we can assess and prioritise accordingly.

Kind regards,

Original enquiry description:

I have noticed over the last week that a lot of elderly people and mothers with wheelchairs have had to walk in the road to avoid these overgrown bushes. They are outside my neighbours house, if I were to gut them back can I put the cutting in the curb.- Message from resident on the Greenway / Meadway junction in Southgate N14
