Response details:
Dear Cllr Stephanos Ioannou,
Case Reference: 101000846111.
Thank you for reaching out to us about the condition of Oakwood Park and Grovelands Park. The grass in the area has been left uncut, and we have informed the Team supervisor about this. He has mentioned that the Grass Teams are currently cutting the verges in the area. The council has not previously provided a cut and collect service due to the extensive grass growth in previous seasons, resulting in longer grass when it is eventually cut. This is why there is more cut grass left on the verges than usual. It is time-consuming and costly for the council to cut and collect this grass. Any growth on hard surfaces and pavements should be systematically sprayed and handled by street cleansing.
Kind regards,
Original enquiry description:
In addition to the below, the general up keep of Oakwood Park and Grovelands Park are very poor, grass not being cut, to the point that grass is now coming through park benches. Also in both parks, the council vehicles are constantly damaging the grass leaving massive tyre damage, I have reported this to the council several times, but its still happening. Also, the grass verges on my road (The Birches, N21) are very overgrown. The grass verges on our road were previously well kept, however, within the last 2 years they are rarely cut and when cut, the council workers leave a massive amount of grass debris which then encourages weeds in the road gully and pavements. Is the above something you can bring up with the relevant authorities? I look forward to hearing from you.
