Dear Cllr Stephanos Ioannou,
Thank you for your enquiry regarding Oakwood Park entrance at Willow Road
I work in Park & Open Spaces and am aware of the entrance changes at this location due to the introduction of the new development. Process and enforcement for the changes to the entrance have previously progressed through the Planning (conditions) and Property Services department to no avail.
Unfortunately, I am personally not in a position to approve the substantial funding required to make the changes needed at the entrance. The issue has been detailed and communicated to Park & Open Spaces Leadership Team Managers with a request for direction, instruction and funding.
I hope this answers your query

Original enquiry description:
Regarding my original issue, the path by the entrance of Willow Walk, which often gets flooded needs to be redesigned and widened. I was previously told by Enfield council, both when reported online and during the consultation process for the Wetlands project, that this would be looked into, no action was taken. As mentioned previously, following the building of 5 new houses on previously owned Council land, the pavement in Oakwood park by the Willow Walk entrance requires enlarging to restore the space now taken up for access to the new housing. This should have been done when the houses were built a few years back. The council sold the land to a private developer who subsequently sold each house for over a million pounds. The council should have ensured that the entrance and path were restored to its previous size which did previously allow good access for the many residents and users of the park.
Can we please therefore get some real action and I ask the department to investigate fitting new grass verges on the entrance and give us a timeframe of when the path will be enlargened.
