Update on Quieter Neighbourhood monitoring report

I am writing to share the attached monitoring report for the “Arnos Grove and Morton Way” and “Queen Elizabeth Drive, Wynchgate and Park View” areas. Automatic Traffic Count (ATC) surveys were carried out between 12 and 18 June 2025 with input from residents who suggested data collection locations. Please see attached our previous correspondence on this.

The report sets out the approach to this data collection and the findings in detail. The report states: “The findings indicate that traffic volumes and speeds are broadly in line with what is typical for roads of their classification. While traffic volumes at some locations were measured as being above the Council’s goals for traffic volumes, these are generally limited and would require wider neighbourhood interventions, which are not considered appropriate at this stage.

Alongside this, opportunities for improvements in these areas are being explored through proposed schemes included in the wider Journeys & Places programme. These include the phased introduction of 20mph limits through the Safer Streets for Enfield initiative (details available here) and the New Southgate Station to Palmers Green Station Walking and Cycling Route (details available here).”

Cllr Ozaydin has given us approval to publish this report on the project page which we plan on doing tomorrow afternoon. Please let us know if there is anything in this report we can clarify before it is published. Once published, the underlying raw monitoring data will also be available on the Let’s Talk page to support transparency.

Please feel free to get in touch if you have any questions.

Kind regards,
