UK Thalassaemia Society

UK Thalassaemia Society

Established in 1976, the UKTS supports people affected by thalassaemia, a genetic blood disorder which requires lifelong blood transfusions & various other medical treatment. The charity offers support, advice, counselling & distributes information encouraging blood screening. It also organises conferences for patients & health professionals to keep them up to date on the latest treatments available.

The UKTS is a local charity I have long supported even prior to being selected as a candidate, and as a Councillor today, I try as best as I can to provide support to this local charity that does so much for people and communities affected across the UK. I am proud and privileged to be part of, and to have such a thriving local charity in my ward.
